House /05, Observation House is a refined addition to the Kambanite complex — a residence defined by balance, clarity, and connection to its natural setting. Its architectural language is calm and deliberate, harmonizing with the terrain rather than imposing upon it. The design opens toward the surrounding landscape, replacing boundaries with continuity and creating fluid transitions between interior and exterior space.

Located in the Pancharevo area, Kambanite is a residential complex of ten single-family houses, each with a distinct architectural character and functional organization. The buildings are integrated into the existing vegetation, preserving and enhancing the site’s natural identity. The street network is minimized to protect the terrain, operating on the principle of shared streets that serve both pedestrians and vehicles equally. Sustainability defines the entire development — energy-efficient materials and environmentally responsible construction ensure long-term performance and reduced impact, while extensive greenery sustains a calm, natural environment.

Observation House occupies a site that descends from the road and opens to sweeping southeastern views. The approach leads below ground level, where the garage and service areas are discreetly integrated into the slope, maintaining both convenience and privacy. Above, the main living volume is elevated to capture light and panorama, offering a heightened sense of openness and comfort.

Terracing organizes the site into three spatial layers — a public courtyard connected to the complex, a transitional courtyard that buffers noise and movement, and a secluded courtyard that ensures intimacy for the residents. The building’s fragmented massing and strategic openings invite light and air from multiple directions, creating a sense of spaciousness over enclosure.

Observation House reflects CAST Studio’s approach — a disciplined architectural logic grounded in function, context, and long-term value. It embodies the essence of the Kambanite complex: restrained, purposeful, and deeply connected to its environment.
