The River House sits on the banks of the Tundzha River, transforming a former restaurant into a contemporary residence. The design draws on Japanese references while staying rooted in its natural context.
Materials are taken directly from nature — stone, glass, wood, greenery — to create a calm and balanced environment. A solid stone base anchors the house, while the facade plays with light and shadow, giving the impression of a floating structure. Glass surfaces open the interior to its surroundings and strengthen the dialogue between house and river.
At its core, a protected inner courtyard introduces daylight and airflow deep into the plan. The interiors balance open living spaces with intimate zones, designed for comfort and clarity.
The River House achieves its strongest effect at the water’s edge. A reflecting pool extends the architecture into the landscape, reinforcing the sense of stillness and connection to place.
