In the heart of Plovdiv, Via Diagonalis bridges past and present through a bold yet contextual design. Two intersecting volumes respond to street geometry and slope, forming a sculpted silhouette that aligns with the urban fabric while respecting ancient foundations below.
The hotel uses stepped massing to achieve density without overwhelming its surroundings. Stone and glass facades shift from solid to transparent—grounding the building while opening upper floors to the city beyond. Inside, distinct program zones operate efficiently to maximize both experience and return.
Public spaces flow seamlessly from the street, with planted entries and logical circulation. Material choices prioritize energy performance and long-term durability. This is not a nostalgic gesture. It’s a strategy to connect memory, economy, and modern use.
